Lower back pain

This is the most common source of chronic pain. It is often complex and multifactorial with vertebral discs, facet joints, ligaments, adjoining muscles all playing a part. In turn pain from one vertebral level can affect adjoining levels.

This is why scans can be helpful but may not tell the whole story. Often diagnostic blocks are needed to identify the sources for pain and followed by definitive treatment with radio frequency, steroid, or Botox.

This will hopefully allow you to start mobilising, stretch and strengthen your back for long term benefit.

In some instances, you may need to consider a surgical option, and we work closely with them to find the most suitable treatment for you.
