Pulse radio frequency
This modality uses pulsed doses of high frequency electric current to modulate the nerve or structure treated without damaging or changing tissue integrity.
In the case of nerves this modulation changes the way it ‘fires’, in particular any pain signals that it may be responsible for.
For example, it is used to treated compromised nerve roots from the back that are causing leg pain or the suprascapular nerve that is responsible for transmitting signals from the shoulder. It has applications in many areas and different nerves.
