Sciatica
This is pain radiating down the leg secondary to nerve compression at the lumbar spinal level, but similar symptoms can occur with compression lower down.
Targeting the source through examination and confirmation with scans allows to isolate an effective injection site. Initially this will be with local anaesthetic and a small dose of steroid to reduce the irritation and pain at the site.
If the effects are only short acting pulse radiofrequency can be applied for long term relief. In some cases, surgery may be an option and we work closely with our spinal colleagues.
